William Lesherman Bailey

William Bailey was born on October 18, 1972, in Springfield, Illinois and passed away on January 24, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada. William led a life of service that started when he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps when he was 18 years old. After his time in the service, William spent several years working in law enforcement.

William was a fierce protector of his family and friends. William never hesitated to help anyone, especially his fellow Veterans in need of assistance. William was always available to assist disabled Veterans with getting back and forth to appointments; even when he was dealing with his own health issues.

William was an avid fisherman that loved to be out on the water with his dogs, Strider and Night Dancer. His other passion revolved around him endlessly debating politics with his sister and discussing the current state of the world. He was affectionately named, “The Professor” by his parents because he was a known, Mr. Know it all. 

William is preceded in death by his parents, Ann and Alvin Nutt and his grandparents, William and Lartee McKinney. William is survived by his sisters, Chalanda Bailey and Jasmin Nutt, his 4 nephews, his aunt Zepora McKinney, his uncle Roger McKinney, his cousin Mary Edwards and a whole host of cousins and friends that loved him
