Michael Herrera Obituary

Michael J. Herrera died in his home on November 8, 2020 in Las Vegas, NV due to complications of COVID-19. He was 58.

Michael was born on November 16, 1961 to his parents Frances and Dennis in Santa Fe, NM. Michael grew up a happy child and in his teen years his mom left back to New Mexico and Michael decided to stay in Las Vegas with is father. While living in Vegas, Michael decided to follow in his fathers footsteps and become a well known bartender. Michael had a personality that attracted people to him and a carefree spirit which gave him the freedom he had in life. Michael was loved by so many people. His heart of gold would shine when he would help a complete stranger then become friends with them. Whatever Mike gave it came from his heart. He saved his two dogs from the shelter who he loved so much. His carefree spirit gave him the strength to pick up and move anywhere he wanted. He know wherever he went he would find a job and place to live and friends. Not many people can just pick up and leave but that was Michael. He was a man of many traits, which include bartending, gardening, construction, worked a lavender farm and those are just the jobs i know about. Michael loved his mom very much and would call her every week to check on her. Michael also loved his dad as they did a lot together as they got older. Michael had a special cousin Brenda who always helped him out whenever he needed it. (THANK YOU).

Michael's path in life was cut short due to COVID-19. Us people who loved him or were friends with him are the ones who have to feel the loss of a good son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and cousin. Michael will be missed but never forgotten. Michael, Your home safe and sound. It was your time but know this…even though your gone you still live in hearts and people will always talk good memories of you. Always remember, we will see you again when its our turn to go home.

Michael is survived by his wife Alisha Herrera, Mother, Frances Espinoza, Father Dennis Herrera(Angie), daughter Christine Maria, Sons, Matthew and John Michael; Brother, John Montoya (Barbara), Sister Christina Espinoza and so many family and friends. He is preceded in death by his sister Sandra, both sides of grandparents, some uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Michael will be buried in Santa Fe, NM in a ceremony to be determined due to COVID-19 restrictions.
