Louis Smith Jr., the son of Audrey Louise Scott Smith and Louis Smith Sr., was born on January 26, 1955 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

His two oldest siblings by his father are Delwin Marie Smith and Ronald Smith.

Louis was educated in St. Charles Parish Public School System and accepted the Lord as his personal Savior at an early age at St. Matthew Baptist Church by the late Rev. Lee Snowden.

Louis joined the United States Army at the age of twenty-two and served from March 1, 1977 through June 10, 1981 as a power generator equipment operator and an expert marksman with a M-16.

Four days prior to entering the military, Louis married his first wife, Nita Mae Wells-Smith. Born to them on February 26, 1977, was their daughter Walnita Scottlita Smith-Buckner.

Louis relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in September of 2005. Louis retired and subsequently married his second wife, Dwane Marie Aubert-Smith in October 2005.

As a child, Louis (Dingo) loved pork and beans with rice and sugar. During his later year, Louis came to love Popeyes chicken with red beans and rice. Louis’s favorite song was A Change is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke.

Louis, was well known and regarded as a warm, loving, kind, and big-hearted person. He was one of the most generous people one could ever have for a brother and a friend. Louis was always ready and willing to help anyone who crosses his path. Louis was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all.

Louis, always believed in God and was never afraid of death. He would always say “For God I Live” and “For God I Die.” We will keep Louis in our memory until we see him again in Paradise; “A Paradise Our God Has Promised.” Luke 23:43
