Joseph C. Balcazar

Joseph Balcazar, 32, beloved son, was called to his eternal resting place on March 20, 2020. He entered this world on February 27, 1988 in Reno, Nevada, born to Kimberly Balcazar. Joe was a free spirit and lived life on his own terms. Having always possessed a deep passion for music, for many years he was active in the local Las Vegas Hip Hop scene and was known around town as, JDub. Joe had a big heart, holding his close friends and family to a high regard. Joe was an advocate for the homeless. His final humanitarian cause involved seeking to distribute COVID-19 hygiene kits to the most vulnerable. He is dearly loved and missed by his family and friends.

Joe is survived by his mother Kimberly Phillips, step father Matthew Phillips. Brothers James Baca, Matt Balcazar, Zachery Baca, Danny Baca, and sister Karissa Phillips. Step brothers Nick and Luke Phillips and step sisters, Brittany Lemley and Mikayla Phillips. Aunts Kristi Newman and Rosanne Balcazar, uncle Mike Newman. Cousins Kaleb and Kamron Darby, A.J. Fajayan, and Jeremy Hawkins. Grandparents, Rosalie Galeotti, Daniel and Belinda Doughty, and Penny Phillips.

A memorial service celebrating his life, will be held at a future date, estimated in the summer of 2020.
