Joe Charles Roberts

Joe Charles Roberts, 63, passed away in Las Vegas, NV on Tuesday May 12, 2020. He was born on April 24, 1957 in Boone, IA as the son of Howard and Phyllis (née Tilley) Roberts.

In 1982, Joe married his wife, Sunisa, in Boone, IA. He was a lineman of the Northwestern Railroad before getting into the cable TV business with Triax Cable and Mediacom in Cedar Rapids, IA where he finished as a Plant Manager. He later moved to Rancho Cucamonga, CA where he worked at KPXN-TV ION Media in Burbank, CA as a Chief Broadcast Engineer and later at KVCR in San Bernardino, CA. He capped off his career in Las Vegas working for KLAS-TV where he was later inducted into the Nevada Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame in 2019.

Joe was a very kind and gentle man. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He especially loved his career in TV and was always regarded as a punctual man who got the job done.

His parents Howard and Phyllis Roberts preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Sunisa Roberts of Bangkok, Thailand; son Charles and his wife Sarah Roberts of Marion, IA; son Joe and his wife Wanitcha Roberts of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; sister, Kathy Ahrens of Ogden, IA; brother, John Roberts of Boone, IA; Granddaughter Piper Roberts; nephew Nick and his wife Katie Roberts of Pocahontas, IA; and nephew Bobby and his wife Jessica Ahrens of Pana, IL.
