Daniel Jerry “Cookie” Perry, 70, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on March 11, 2023.

Jerry “Cookie” Perry was born July 29, 1952, to parents James Sr. and Ella Mae Perry in Lake St. John, LA. He attended and graduated from, Tensas Rosenwald H.S. in 1970. He lived in St. Joseph, LA. with his family until he moved to Las Vegas in his early years where he worked on the Las Vegas strip as a Cook and as a Porter.

He leaves to cherish his two daughters, Elaina “Sabrina” Norman (Paul) of Las Vegas, NV, Brenda Perry of Toledo, OH, Five sisters: Freddie Sue Williams, Gloria Perry both of Las Vegas, NV, Helen Loyd (Dillon) of Toledo, OH, Ida Bea Ohuonu (Maurice) of Houston, TX and Diane Earl (Joseph) of St. Joseph, LA, One brother, Donald Perry (Susie) of Augusta, GA, Two granddaughters; Allisha Griggs of Las Vegas, NV and Miracle Perry of Toledo, OH; Three grandsons, Lee Griggs Jr, and Marcus A. & Myles A. Norman of Las Vegas, NV and One great-grandson, Kingston Brown of Las Vegas, NV. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and his “best friend”- Ms. Fae and friends.

Those proceeded him in death, both parents, James and Ella Mae Perry, sisters, Willie Mae Stewart, and Mary Davison. Three brothers, James Perry Jr, Andrew Ray Perry, and Johnny Perry.

Those that knew “Cookie” enjoyed his laid back, chill personality. He enjoyed the outdoors and reminiscing on “ole” times, or discussing world matters, or telling interesting tales about interesting encounters he’d personally experienced. He enjoyed watching old western movies, beer, listening to Motown, or the Blues. But most of all, we will miss his infectious laugh that would lighten the mood and soften the heart.
