Clarence Shaner Obituary

Clarence (Will) Shaner, of Apache Junction, Arizona, passed away on May 9, 2023, in Las Vegas. NV

Clarence was born in Salina, Kansas, to Esther and Clarence Shaner on February 25, 1935.

Clarence was a country music radio announcer in the early 60s and early 70s. He won Mr. D.J. USA in 1962 and was introduced on stage at the Grand Ole Opry during the country music awards that same year. He finished his working career as a classifieds add manager at the Gazette Telegraph newspaper in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Clarence was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie J. Shaner.

Clarence is survived by his four children: Kay Harrison of Nevada, Tim and Kathy Shaner of New Mexico, David and Cindia Shaner of Tennessee, and his stepson James Ryon of Arizona. He has 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Clarence will be laid to rest in Mesa, Arizona.
